Lee Wants Firewagon
Dear Santa Claus, I am a little boy six years
old.  I have waited for you so long and am
glad the time is nearly here for you to
come.  Please bring me a horn and drum, a
little fire wagon and anything you have to
spare.  I will be so glad to get it.  I know very
near all my letters and can write  my name.
Bye-bye, dear old Santa, Lee Jackson

My mom, Florelle Garrett, her
brother, Virgil Garrett, and
cousin, Flora Marie King,
were among those on FCAHS's
honor roll in this reprint from
1922.  My Aunt Bessie, one of my
mom's younger sisters, sent this
clipping to her and wrote on the
bottom, "Smart brother and sister,

time I came along!"

John R. Frances, age 82, died this morning shortly
after 9 o'clock at St. aul's sanitarium from injuries
received yesterday morning about 11:30 o'clock as
the result of a fall from a Fairland car near the
intersection of McKinney Avenue and Harwood
Streets.  It is not known whether he stepped from the
car or fell.  At any rate, he fell with considerable force
against the asphalt pavement, striking on his head.
He was rendered unconscious and was carried to the
McKinney Avenue drug store close by and afterward
removed to St. Paul's sanitarium.  He resided at 132
Montgomery Street, from which place the funeral will
take place tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock.  Interment
will be made at Oakland Cemetery.
