| Two unrecorded land claims from the files of the Land Commissioners for the District West of the Pearl River. Francis held many of these. A recorded claim locates the land where Francis settled as "lying on the waters of the North Fork of Cole's Creek.' This places it to the northwest of present day Fayette, MS. Francis and family made their way to the MS Territory by way of the Natchez Trace in approximately 1800. |
